THE BOOKS

 

I spent a lot of years writing, never actually believing I would see a book of mine published. In fact, I didn't even set out to publish any of the manuscripts, but God! Many of us spend a lot of time dreaming about what we would like to do. Though we dream big, most don’t actually ever think it will happen. Why? Because it takes everything you’ve got to pursue the beating drum inside. Outside influences can rock your world and we often make choices we believe hinder the progress of following those dreams to do other things.

 

Adults often ask kids what they want to be when they grow up. Instinctively kids respond with career choices based on someone they look up to, the success of what it looks like to be that person, or an interest they have is peaked by what they see on television or activities they engage in. Some flounder around not really having any direction in their lives or are afraid to pursue the possibility because someone told them that it just isn’t going to work out and most likely that type of pursuit simply won’t pay the bills.

 

The cost is great and the beginnings sometimes are so small that we can’t help but consider if we’ve made a mistake or not. Suddenly we are faced with having to believe in and encourage ourselves as we look to God for wisdom and guidance regarding what He has placed within us. Remember that David was anointed long before he was appointed to be king, and he had to go through some stuff! I say this to those of you who are in the middle of reaching your Promised Land: Don’t give up! Keep going! Trust and believe God no matter what and let Him bring it to pass in your life. The adventurous pursuit will cost you everything and at the same time you will gain everything. You are here now for such a time as this; make the most of it!
